At 203 dpi those elements print cleanly and, importantly, QR codes scan reliably from the printed receipt. A QR code that requires two or three attempts to scan defeats the purpose of putting it there. The trade-off is speed: 250 mm/sec against the T88VII's 500. For a lane processing a customer every thirty seconds this is invisible. For a supermarket lane at peak, it is not.

Decide Bluetooth or network deliberately. Bluetooth pairing is quicker to set up and ties one printer to one tablet, which suits a single-till cafe. Ethernet or Wi-Fi lets several devices print to the same unit and allows remote monitoring, which is what a multi-till or multi-site operation needs. Retrofitting this decision after deployment is more work than making it correctly at the start.

Standardise your paper. Cheap thermal rolls are abrasive, print faintly and wear the printhead faster, and faint printing is the most common cause of QR codes on receipts failing to scan.

Consider the paper exit orientation against your counter layout before ordering, since it determines whether the printer can sit flush against a wall or needs clearance in front.
