ProLiant Smart Carriers and MSA Array Drives
HPE drives ship in Smart Carrier (SC) and Low Profile (LFF) trays, and the carrier generation must match your ProLiant chassis. MSA storage array drives are a separate category again - the MSA controller expects HPE array firmware and will report an unsupported drive if a standard server disk is fitted. Part numbers such as P20077-001, N9X07A and Q2R42A identify the exact drive, tray and firmware combination required.
