ProLiant Server Drives and MSA Array Drives Are Different Parts
HPE sells separate drive lines for its servers and for its MSA storage arrays, and they are not interchangeable even at the same capacity. The P20077-001 in this range is a 300GB 10K SAS drive in the SC (Smart Carrier) tray used by ProLiant Gen8 and later. The Q2R42A and N9X07A are MSA drives: a 2.4TB 10K SAS small form factor model and a 4TB 7200 RPM midline model. MSA controllers run HPE array firmware checks, so a ProLiant disk fitted to an MSA shelf will usually be reported as unsupported.
Spare Numbers, Option Numbers and Midline
HPE parts carry two kinds of number. Option numbers such as N9X07A are what you order when buying new capacity, while spare numbers in the xxxxxx-001 format are what service documentation lists for replacements. Both identify the same hardware family, so quote whichever is printed on your existing drive. Midline is HPE's term for 7200 RPM capacity drives, the equivalent of what other vendors call nearline.
