ThinkSystem and the IBM System x Transition
Lenovo acquired IBM's x86 server business, so the current ThinkSystem line and the older System x platform share a great deal of engineering and some overlapping part numbers. Lenovo part numbers such as 4XB0G45727, 4XB0G88734, 4XB0G88761 and 00MM685 identify the exact drive and carrier combination. G3HS caddies are not interchangeable with earlier G2HS trays, which is a frequent cause of a correctly specified drive failing to seat.
Enterprise and Nearline Lenovo Drives
