HP ProLiant and Integrity Server Drives
HP's enterprise storage spans the ProLiant x86 server line and the Integrity platform, and drives are not interchangeable between them. Part numbers such as 430165-002 and AB432-69001 identify the exact drive, carrier and firmware combination the system expects. HP Smart Array controllers validate drive firmware, so ordering by capacity and interface alone frequently results in a disk the controller will not accept.

HP stopped supplying parts for many ProLiant G-series and Integrity systems years ago, yet a large number remain in production.
