Campus and district hardware

Library circulation and ID — 2D scanners that read student ID cards and phone-displayed credentials, and label printers for spine labels and asset tags. Note that laser scanners cannot read phone screens at all, which increasingly matters for digital student IDs.
Asset tagging — thermal transfer printing rather than direct thermal, because an asset tag applied this year must still be readable at the next audit. Direct thermal fades within months.

Server and storage spares for long-lived systems
