The industries we supply in Oklahoma

Energy is the state’s defining sector. Oil and gas operations across Oklahoma City, Tulsa and the Anadarko and SCOOP/STACK plays run seismic, reservoir modelling and production data at volumes that need serious capacity — seismic datasets in particular are large, sequential and read far more than written, which favours high-capacity nearline arrays over 15K performance drives. Field and midstream operations add asset tagging and labelling in outdoor conditions where ordinary media fails.

Aerospace and defence. Tulsa’s aircraft maintenance and modification industry and the Oklahoma City aerospace complex run part marking, traceability and maintenance record labelling where a label has to remain readable through a component’s service life, plus procurement that runs on purchase orders, formal quotations and vendor registration.

Healthcare across Oklahoma City, Tulsa and the regional systems runs patient identification, wristband and specimen labelling at scale, and imaging archives that grow continuously.

Logistics along I-35, I-40 and I-44, and the Tulsa Port of Catoosa, runs rugged mobile computers, handheld scanners and industrial thermal label printers across shifts. Higher education at Norman, Stillwater, Tulsa and the regional campuses adds research computing storage and campus procurement.

Oklahoma cities we ship to include: Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Broken Arrow, Edmond, Lawton, Moore, Midwest City, Enid, Stillwater, Owasso, Muskogee, Bartlesville, Shawnee, Bixby, Jenks, Ardmore, Ponca City, Duncan, Del City, Sapulpa, Yukon, Mustang, Sand Springs, Bethany, Altus, Claremore, McAlester, El Reno, Ada, Durant, Tahlequah, Chickasha, Miami, Glenpool, Elk City, Guymon, Woodward, Weatherford, Okmulgee, Choctaw, Guthrie, Warr Acres, Coweta, Catoosa, Collinsville, Skiatook, Pryor, Vinita, Grove, Wagoner, Poteau, Idabel, Hugo, Atoka, Madill, Marietta, Pauls Valley, Purcell, Blanchard, Newcastle, Tuttle, Piedmont, Noble, Seminole, Holdenville, Wewoka, Henryetta, Sallisaw, Stilwell, Clinton, Anadarko, Hobart, Frederick, Alva, Blackwell, Perry, Cushing, Drumright, Bristow, Tecumseh, Harrah and every other address in the state.

Getting the part right the first time

Most returns are compatibility, not quality, and the same five things cause almost all of them.

Drive carriers. A drive without the right caddy will not go in the bay. Carriers are chassis and generation specific — an HPE Smart Carrier from one generation does not fit another — and empty bays rarely ship with them. This is the most common omission in a drive order, which is why we stock caddies and trays alongside the drives.

Sector format. 512n, 512e and 4Kn are not interchangeable in an array, and the problem usually surfaces during a rebuild rather than at installation.

Memory rank and type. RDIMM and LRDIMM do not mix in the same system, and populating more ranks per channel can force the whole bank to downclock — DDR4-3200 modules running at 2933 or 2666 because of population rules, not because the modules are wrong.

Processor pairing. Both sockets need matching models, and a CPU upgrade frequently needs a BIOS level and sometimes a different heatsink.

Transceiver coding. Many switches only accept transceivers coded for that vendor, and an uncoded SFP+ is simply refused.

Tell us the server, array, switch or printer the part is going into and we check all of this before anything ships.

Storm season, power and equipment planning

Oklahoma sees more severe weather than almost any state we serve, and three things follow from it.

Power events damage equipment. Surges and repeated outages shorten the life of drives, controllers, printers and network hardware. A UPS with working batteries is worth more than most organisations budget for it, and heat is what kills UPS batteries — a unit several years into its battery life may hold a fraction of its rated runtime while reporting itself healthy, because a self-test draws far less than a real outage. Test under real load periodically.

Summer heat. Equipment rooms without dedicated cooling run far hotter than the building. Heat shortens drive life measurably, and processors throttle to stay within limits — a machine that is slow with no fault reported. Monitor intake temperature rather than the wall thermostat.

Spares when logistics stop. When severe weather suspends carrier service, a part on your own shelf is the only part you have. For anything where downtime is unacceptable — drives in production arrays, a printhead per printer model in continuous use, a spare scanner per shift, a matching power supply for any non-redundant server — holding stock locally is the practical answer.

Shipping to Oklahoma

Oklahoma is a moderate distance from our West Palm Beach facility. Eastern Oklahoma and Tulsa are marginally closer than the Panhandle and the far west, which are treated by carriers as extended delivery areas in places.

Expedited service is available to every address in the state. Where a deadline matters, tell us the date rather than picking a service and we will say which option actually meets it.

Purchase orders and Oklahoma public sector procurement

Oklahoma organisations run heavily on purchase orders. OU, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, UCO and the regional universities, CareerTech and community colleges, school districts, municipal and county IT departments, state agencies, tribal governments and hospital systems all require a supplier who can accept a PO, supply a formal quotation and complete vendor registration.

Tech Seller USA accepts purchase orders from organisations and offers Net-30 terms on approval. We quote line by line against a bill of materials with exact manufacturer part numbers, condition and availability stated, complete vendor forms and W-9s, and hold pricing for a stated validity period.

Oklahoma FAQs

Servers, storage and energy workloads

Do you supply complete servers?

Yes — HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen9 and Gen10, Dell PowerEdge R630, R730, R740 and R750, Lenovo ThinkSystem and Supermicro, as complete systems and as parts for specific models.

Can you supply parts for a specific server model?

Yes. Tell us the model and generation — DL380 Gen9, R730, ThinkSystem SR650 — and we quote drives, caddies, memory, processors, controllers and power supplies against that platform.

What storage suits seismic and reservoir modelling data?

High-capacity CMR nearline drives in a double-parity array. Seismic datasets are large and sequential and are read far more than written, which favours capacity and sustained throughput over spindle speed.

Do you supply LTO tape drives and media?

Yes — LTO-6, LTO-7, LTO-8 and LTO-9 drives and media, plus autoloaders and libraries from HPE StoreEver, IBM, Quantum and Overland. Tape remains the practical answer for large seismic and imaging archives.

Which LTO generations are backwards compatible?

LTO drives generally read two generations back and write one generation back, with limits that changed from LTO-8 onward. Tell us the drive and the media you hold and we will confirm before you buy either.

Can you quote at volume for a refresh?

Yes. Send the quantities and the platforms and we quote line by line with condition, drive hours and availability stated on each.

Hard drives and SSDs

What enterprise hard drive capacities do you stock?

600GB 15K SAS, 900GB SAS, 1.2TB, 1.8TB and 2.4TB 10K SAS, and 4TB, 8TB, 10TB, 12TB, 16TB and 20TB nearline drives, in 12Gb/s SAS and 6Gb/s SATA.

Which drive brands do you carry?

Seagate Exos, Western Digital Ultrastar and Toshiba, plus vendor-coded HPE, HP, Dell, IBM, Lenovo and NetApp stock.

What is the difference between 15K, 10K and 7,200 RPM drives?

Spindle speed trades capacity for latency. 15K SAS suits transactional workloads, 10K is the general-purpose middle, and 7,200 RPM nearline gives the most capacity per bay for archives.

What does nearline SAS mean?

A 7,200 RPM high-capacity drive with a SAS interface rather than SATA. You get capacity economics with SAS queueing and dual-port capability, which is why arrays favour it.

What enterprise SSD capacities and brands do you carry?

1.92TB, 3.84TB and 7.68TB in 12Gb/s SAS, 6Gb/s SATA and NVMe U.2, plus M.2 — Samsung, Micron, Intel, Seagate Nytro, Kioxia and vendor-coded HPE and Dell.

What is the difference between read intensive and mixed use SSDs?

Endurance. Read intensive drives are rated around 1 DWPD and suit mostly-read workloads; mixed use is typically 3 DWPD for databases and virtualisation. A read intensive drive in a write-heavy role wears out early.

What do DWPD and TBW mean?

Drive writes per day and terabytes written — how much can be written over the warranted life. Match the rating to the workload rather than assuming any enterprise SSD suits any role.

What is U.2 and how does it differ from U.3?

Both are 2.5 inch NVMe form factors. U.3 backplanes accept U.2 drives, but U.2 backplanes do not accept U.3 — the compatibility runs one way only.

What is sector format and why does it matter?

512n, 512e and 4Kn describe how a drive presents its sectors. Mixing formats in one array is refused or unpredictable, and it frequently surfaces during a rebuild rather than at installation.

Should I avoid SMR drives in an array?

Yes, always. SMR write performance collapses part-way through sustained writes, and a rebuild onto an SMR drive can fail outright. We state CMR or SMR on every listing.

Can you tell me the drive hours before I buy?

Yes. The drive reports it exactly and we check before listing. At volume we can state the range across the batch.

Controllers, caddies, rails and spares

Do you supply RAID controllers?

Yes — Dell PERC H730, H730P, H740 and H965i, HPE Smart Array P440ar and P408i, plus LSI and Broadcom HBAs and QLogic and Emulex fibre channel HBAs.

Do you supply RAID cache batteries and capacitor packs?

Yes. This is the part that fails silently — the controller drops the array into write-through and performance falls off with no obvious error. A replacement pack is cheap relative to the symptom.

What is an IT mode HBA and when do I need one?

A host bus adapter that passes drives through to the operating system without RAID abstraction — an LSI 9207-8i or 9300-8i, for instance. Software-defined storage and ZFS need it.

Do you supply drive caddies and trays?

Yes — Dell drive caddies and HPE Smart Carrier trays, plus drive blanks. We stock them alongside the drives, because a drive without the right caddy will not go in the bay.

Will an HPE Smart Carrier from one generation fit another?

No. Smart Carrier trays changed across generations and do not cross. Tell us the server model and generation and we supply the right one.

Do you supply server rails and rail kits?

Yes. Rails are chassis and rack specific, and a server without the right rails does not mount safely. Tell us the model and rack depth.

Do you supply riser cards and backplane boards?

Yes. Risers determine which PCIe slots are usable and at what lane width, which is why an adapter that fits physically may still run slower than expected.

Do you supply server fans and heatsinks?

Yes. Heatsinks are frequently processor and chassis specific, and a CPU upgrade sometimes needs a different heatsink.

Memory and processors

What server memory do you stock?

16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB DDR4 RDIMM and LRDIMM registered ECC in DDR4-2400 PC4-19200, DDR4-2666 PC4-21300 and DDR4-3200 PC4-25600, plus DDR5-4800 and DDR5-5600 and DDR3-1600 PC3-12800.

Which memory brands do you carry?

Samsung, Micron, SK Hynix, Kingston and Crucial, plus HPE and Dell coded modules where the platform expects them.

What is the difference between RDIMM, UDIMM and LRDIMM?

RDIMM buffers the address and command lines, LRDIMM buffers the data lines too and allows much higher total capacity, and UDIMM is unbuffered. They do not mix in the same system.

Why is my DDR4-3200 memory running at 2666?

Population rules. Filling more ranks or more slots per channel forces the bank to downclock, and the processor also has a maximum supported speed. The modules are not faulty.

Can I mix memory sizes and speeds?

You can, but everything runs at the slowest common speed and unbalanced population costs you channel performance. Populate in matched sets per the platform’s memory guide.

Do you supply Xeon E5 v3 and v4 processors?

Yes, along with Xeon Scalable Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum from 8 to 28 cores, and AMD EPYC and Opteron.

Can I mix different Xeon models in a dual socket server?

No. Both sockets need matching models. A mismatched pair either refuses to boot or runs on one socket.

Does a processor upgrade need a BIOS update?

Frequently yes, and the BIOS has to be updated before the new processor goes in. Tell us the server and current firmware level and we will flag it.

Power, storms and networking

Do you supply server power supplies?

Yes, by wattage — 495W, 750W, 800W, 1100W and above — for HPE, Dell and Supermicro platforms.

Can I mix power supply wattages in one server?

Generally no. Redundant supplies should match on wattage and usually on part number; a mismatched pair commonly logs a fault and may not provide redundancy at all.

Do power events damage IT hardware?

Yes. Surges and repeated outages shorten the life of drives, controllers, printers and network hardware, which matters more in Oklahoma than most states.

How often should UPS batteries be replaced?

On schedule rather than on failure. Heat is what kills UPS batteries, and a unit several years in may hold a fraction of its rated runtime while reporting itself healthy.

Why does my UPS report healthy but give no runtime?

Because a self-test draws far less than a real outage. Test under real load periodically rather than relying on the self-test.

Do you supply rack PDUs and UPS units?

Yes, including UPS battery replacements.

Do you supply SFP+ and QSFP transceivers?

Yes, including SFP-10G-SR, QSFP+ and QSFP28.

Will any SFP+ transceiver work in my switch?

Often not. Many switches only accept transceivers coded for that vendor and simply refuse others. Tell us the switch make and model and we supply the correct coding.

Do you supply 10GbE network adapters and switches?

Yes — Intel X520 and X710, Mellanox ConnectX and Broadcom adapters in PCIe, OCP and mezzanine form factors, plus Cisco Catalyst and comparable PoE+ and 10GbE switches by port count.

Heat, spares and storm planning

Does Oklahoma heat affect drive life?

Yes, measurably. Equipment rooms without dedicated cooling run far hotter than the building, and sustained heat shortens drive life. Monitor intake temperature rather than the wall thermostat.

Why is my server slow in summer with no errors showing?

Frequently thermal throttling. Processors reduce speed to stay within limits and report no fault — the machine just runs slower. Check intake temperature, fans and air baffles.

Should Oklahoma organisations hold spares?

For anything where downtime is unacceptable, yes. When severe weather suspends carrier service, a part on your own shelf is the only part you have.

What should we hold as spares?

Drives in production arrays, a printhead per printer model in continuous use, a spare scanner per shift, and a matching power supply for any non-redundant server.

Can you hold stock against our platforms?

Tell us the platforms and printer models you run and your refresh timing. It commits you to nothing and it changes what we can do when something fails.

Do you ship during severe weather disruptions?

We ship when carriers are operating. During a suspension nobody can move freight, and we will tell you that plainly rather than accepting an order we cannot fulfil.

Aerospace, labelling and scanning

Do you supply industrial label printers for Oklahoma aerospace?

Yes. Zebra and SATO industrial printers suited to part marking, traceability and maintenance record labelling, with printheads and spares.

What media suits aerospace traceability labelling?

Labels have to remain readable through a component’s service life, which usually means thermal transfer with a resin ribbon rather than direct thermal. Tell us the surface and environment.

What media survives outdoor field and midstream asset tagging?

Sun, heat and weather destroy direct thermal quickly. Thermal transfer with a resin ribbon on a weather-rated facestock is the usual answer — tell us the exposure and expected life.

How many spare printheads should a plant hold?

At least one per printer model in continuous use. Printheads are consumables with a rated life measured in linear distance printed, not parts that fail unexpectedly.

How do I know which printhead my printer needs?

Read the part number off the existing printhead or the printer label. Printheads differ by resolution for the same printer model and do not cross between models.

There is a white line through every label. What is wrong?

A dead heating element in the printhead. It appears in the same position on every label, does not heal, and more elements will follow.

Why is my printer skipping labels?

Calibration. The printer detects label boundaries with a sensor, and changing media size, liner or gap requires recalibrating.

Will a 1D laser scanner read 2D codes used in part marking?

No. Data Matrix codes used in part marking are 2D and require an imager. A 1D laser cannot read them at all.

Do you supply label printers for Oklahoma healthcare?

Yes. Zebra and SATO printers for patient identification, wristband and specimen labelling, plus genuine replacement printheads.

Shipping, procurement and returns

Do you ship to Oklahoma?

Yes, to every address in the state, including the Panhandle and the rural counties.

How long does delivery to Oklahoma take?

Oklahoma is a moderate distance from West Palm Beach. Eastern Oklahoma and Tulsa are marginally closer than the Panhandle and the far west.

Do you have a warehouse in Oklahoma?

No. We ship from West Palm Beach, Florida, and we would rather state that plainly than imply a distribution network we do not have.

Do you deliver to Tulsa Port of Catoosa operations?

Yes, including Catoosa, Claremore, Owasso and the surrounding logistics addresses.

Do you ship to the Panhandle?

Yes — Guymon and the surrounding counties, which carriers treat as extended delivery areas. Transit is longer and we will say so up front.

Can Oklahoma universities and agencies order on a purchase order?

Yes. We accept purchase orders from organisations, offer Net-30 on approval, and complete vendor registration forms and W-9s as required.

Do you supply tribal government IT departments?

Yes, with the purchase order, formal quotation and vendor registration process their procurement requires.

Can you quote against a bill of materials?

Yes. Send the list with part numbers, quantities and the target system for each line, and you get it back priced per line with exact part number, condition and availability stated.

Is Oklahoma sales tax applied?

Sales tax is applied where we are required to collect it. If your organisation is tax exempt, send your exemption certificate before ordering.

How quickly do you respond to an Oklahoma quote request?

Our target is one business hour, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern — 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central.

What condition is your hardware in?

We state the condition on every line. Ask for the specific condition, the testing performed and the drive hours where applicable.

What is your return policy?

30 days. Raise a problem promptly — the sooner it is raised, the more options there are.

Should I test hardware when it arrives?

Yes, and before it goes into production. Failures cluster early in life and transit damage frequently does not show until equipment runs under load.

Will you tell me if I am buying the wrong thing?

Yes. Several of our guides recommend against a purchase where the workload does not justify it, and we apply the same approach to quotes.

Do you buy decommissioned hardware from Oklahoma organisations?

Contact us with a list of what is coming out and we will tell you what it is worth and what is worth keeping as spares.

How do I contact you from Oklahoma?

Call (954) 601-5103 or email sarah.jane@techsellerusa.com. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern — 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central.
