When a Cable Is the Better Option
A corded scanner draws power from its cable and sends data the same way, so there is no battery to degrade, no charging cradle to manage and no pairing to lose after a restart. The Honeywell Xenon XP 1950g is built for demanding counters and reads damaged or poorly printed codes well, which is why it is common in healthcare and government service desks. Setting Up a Corded Scanner
Plug in over USB and most scanners work as a keyboard input straight away. Settings such as suffix keys, enabled symbologies and beep volume are configured by scanning programming barcodes from the manufacturer's guide.
