The industries we supply in Oregon
The Silicon Forest β Hillsboro, Beaverton, Aloha and the Sunset Corridor β carries semiconductor manufacturing, electronics design and a substantial engineering computing base. Simulation, layout and test datasets grow continuously and are read far more than written, which favours high-capacity nearline arrays over performance tiers, and cleanroom and component labelling requires media specified for the process rather than bought generically.
Portland adds data centre capacity, technology companies, healthcare systems and a growing distribution footprint, and eastern Oregon β particularly the Columbia River corridor around Hermiston, Boardman and The Dalles β has become a significant data centre region in its own right, which means continuous drive replacement across every platform generation in service.
Food processing and agriculture through the Willamette Valley, Hood River and the eastern counties runs scanning and labelling in cold, wet and washdown conditions where standard equipment does not survive the year.
Ports and logistics at Portland and along I-5 run rugged mobile computers, handheld scanners and industrial thermal label printers across shifts, and higher education at Eugene, Corvallis, Portland and the regional campuses adds research computing storage and campus procurement.
Oregon cities we ship to include: Portland, Salem, Eugene, Gresham, Hillsboro, Beaverton, Bend, Medford, Springfield, Corvallis, Albany, Tigard, Lake Oswego, Keizer, Grants Pass, Oregon City, McMinnville, Redmond, Tualatin, West Linn, Woodburn, Forest Grove, Newberg, Wilsonville, Roseburg, Klamath Falls, Ashland, Milwaukie, Sherwood, Happy Valley, Central Point, Canby, Hermiston, Pendleton, Troutdale, Lebanon, Coos Bay, Dallas, The Dalles, St. Helens, La Grande, Cornelius, Gladstone, Ontario, Sandy, Newport, Prineville, Astoria, Silverton, Monmouth, Independence, Baker City, Hood River, Boardman, Umatilla, Madras, Sisters, Florence, Lincoln City, Tillamook, Seaside, Brookings, Gold Beach, Bandon, North Bend, Reedsport, Cottage Grove, Creswell, Junction City, Harrisburg, Sweet Home, Stayton, Aumsville, Mount Angel, Molalla, Estacada, Sutherlin, Myrtle Creek, Winston, Burns, John Day, Enterprise and every other address in the state.
Getting the part right the first time
Most returns are compatibility, not quality, and at Oregon transit distances a wrong part is expensive twice over. The same five things cause almost all of them.
Drive carriers. A drive without the right caddy will not go in the bay. Carriers are chassis and generation specific β an HPE Smart Carrier from one generation does not fit another β and empty bays rarely ship with them. This is the most common omission in a drive order, which is why we stock caddies and trays alongside the drives.
Sector format. 512n, 512e and 4Kn are not interchangeable in an array, and the problem usually surfaces during a rebuild rather than at installation.
Memory rank and type. RDIMM and LRDIMM do not mix in the same system, and populating more ranks per channel can force the whole bank to downclock β DDR4-3200 modules running at 2933 or 2666 because of population rules, not because the modules are wrong.
Processor pairing. Both sockets need matching models, and a CPU upgrade frequently needs a BIOS level and sometimes a different heatsink.
Transceiver coding. Many switches only accept transceivers coded for that vendor, and an uncoded SFP+ is simply refused.
Tell us the server, array, switch or printer the part is going into and we check all of this before anything leaves Florida.
Shipping to Oregon, and why spares matter more here
Oregon is one of the furthest states from our West Palm Beach facility, and we are straightforward about it. Standard ground takes considerably longer to Portland or Bend than it does to Atlanta, and expedited service costs more from this distance.
The practical answer is to hold spares for anything you cannot wait for β drives in production arrays, a printhead per printer model in continuous use, a spare scanner per shift, and a matching power supply for any server without redundancy. A part on your own shelf in Hillsboro has no transit time at all, and at this distance that difference is larger than almost anywhere in the lower 48.
Tell us the platforms and printer models you run and we can hold stock against them and flag availability changes before a part becomes scarce.
Cold, damp and washdown environments
Oregon food processing, cold storage and coastal operations run equipment in conditions that destroy standard hardware, and three separate requirements get confused for one.
Cold rating. Freezer operation sits below what standard units are rated for. Below that range batteries lose capacity rapidly, displays respond slowly and the device may refuse to operate.
Ingress protection. Washdown areas need equipment sealed against water and dust. A device that is merely rugged against drops is not sealed against a hose.
Condensation management. Equipment crossing between freezer and ambient forms condensation, which is a separate problem from cold rating.
Tell us the temperature range, whether washdown occurs, and whether equipment crosses zones during a shift. Those three answers decide the specification, and getting them right at purchase is far cheaper than replacing equipment annually β particularly at this shipping distance.
Purchase orders and Oregon public sector procurement
Oregon organisations run heavily on purchase orders. University of Oregon, Oregon State, Portland State, OHSU and the regional universities, community colleges, school districts, municipal and county IT departments, state agencies and hospital systems all require a supplier who can accept a PO, supply a formal quotation and complete vendor registration.
Tech Seller USA accepts purchase orders from organisations and offers Net-30 terms on approval. We quote line by line against a bill of materials with exact manufacturer part numbers, condition and availability stated, complete vendor forms and W-9s, and hold pricing for a stated validity period.

Servers, storage and data centre supply
Do you supply complete servers?
Yes β HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen9 and Gen10, Dell PowerEdge R630, R730, R740 and R750, Lenovo ThinkSystem and Supermicro, as complete systems and as parts for specific models.
Can you supply parts for a specific server model?
Yes. Tell us the model and generation β DL380 Gen9, R730, ThinkSystem SR650 β and we quote drives, caddies, memory, processors, controllers and power supplies against that platform.
Do you supply Oregon data centre operators?
Yes, including the Columbia River corridor. Vendor-coded drives for HPE ProLiant, Dell PowerEdge, Lenovo ThinkSystem and NetApp platforms β tell us the platform and generation and we confirm the carrier match.
Can you quote at volume for a refresh?
Yes. Send the quantities and the platforms and we quote line by line with condition, drive hours and availability stated on each.
What storage suits simulation and engineering datasets?
High-capacity CMR nearline drives in a double-parity array. Engineering datasets grow continuously and are read far more than written, which favours capacity and sustained throughput over spindle speed.
Do you supply LTO tape drives and media?
Yes β LTO-6, LTO-7, LTO-8 and LTO-9 drives and media, plus autoloaders and libraries from HPE StoreEver, IBM, Quantum and Overland.
Which LTO generations are backwards compatible?
LTO drives generally read two generations back and write one generation back, with limits that changed from LTO-8 onward. Tell us the drive and the media you hold and we will confirm before you buy either.
Hard drives and SSDs
What enterprise hard drive capacities do you stock?
600GB 15K SAS, 900GB SAS, 1.2TB, 1.8TB and 2.4TB 10K SAS, and 4TB, 8TB, 10TB, 12TB, 16TB and 20TB nearline drives, in 12Gb/s SAS and 6Gb/s SATA.
Which drive brands do you carry?
Seagate Exos, Western Digital Ultrastar and Toshiba, plus vendor-coded HPE, HP, Dell, IBM, Lenovo and NetApp stock.
What is the difference between 15K, 10K and 7,200 RPM drives?
Spindle speed trades capacity for latency. 15K SAS suits transactional workloads, 10K is the general-purpose middle, and 7,200 RPM nearline gives the most capacity per bay for archives.
What does nearline SAS mean?
A 7,200 RPM high-capacity drive with a SAS interface rather than SATA. You get capacity economics with SAS queueing and dual-port capability, which is why arrays favour it.
What enterprise SSD capacities and brands do you carry?
1.92TB, 3.84TB and 7.68TB in 12Gb/s SAS, 6Gb/s SATA and NVMe U.2, plus M.2 β Samsung, Micron, Intel, Seagate Nytro, Kioxia and vendor-coded HPE and Dell.
What is the difference between read intensive and mixed use SSDs?
Endurance. Read intensive drives are rated around 1 DWPD and suit mostly-read workloads; mixed use is typically 3 DWPD for databases and virtualisation. A read intensive drive in a write-heavy role wears out early.
What do DWPD and TBW mean?
Drive writes per day and terabytes written β how much can be written over the warranted life. Match the rating to the workload rather than assuming any enterprise SSD suits any role.
What is U.2 and how does it differ from U.3?
Both are 2.5 inch NVMe form factors. U.3 backplanes accept U.2 drives, but U.2 backplanes do not accept U.3 β the compatibility runs one way only.
What is sector format and why does it matter?
512n, 512e and 4Kn describe how a drive presents its sectors. Mixing formats in one array is refused or unpredictable, and it frequently surfaces during a rebuild rather than at installation.
Should I avoid SMR drives in an array?
Yes, always. SMR write performance collapses part-way through sustained writes, and a rebuild onto an SMR drive can fail outright. We state CMR or SMR on every listing.
Can you tell me the drive hours before I buy?
Yes. The drive reports it exactly and we check before listing. At volume we can state the range across the batch.
Controllers, caddies, rails and spares
Do you supply RAID controllers?
Yes β Dell PERC H730, H730P, H740 and H965i, HPE Smart Array P440ar and P408i, plus LSI and Broadcom HBAs and QLogic and Emulex fibre channel HBAs.
Do you supply RAID cache batteries and capacitor packs?
Yes. This is the part that fails silently β the controller drops the array into write-through and performance falls off with no obvious error. A replacement pack is cheap relative to the symptom.
What is an IT mode HBA and when do I need one?
A host bus adapter that passes drives through to the operating system without RAID abstraction β an LSI 9207-8i or 9300-8i, for instance. Software-defined storage and ZFS need it, and a RAID controller in the same slot is the wrong tool.
Do you supply drive caddies and trays?
Yes β Dell drive caddies and HPE Smart Carrier trays, plus drive blanks. We stock them alongside the drives, because a drive without the right caddy will not go in the bay.
Will an HPE Smart Carrier from one generation fit another?
No. Smart Carrier trays changed across generations and do not cross. Tell us the server model and generation and we supply the right one.
Do you supply server rails and rail kits?
Yes. Rails are chassis and rack specific, and a server without the right rails does not mount safely. Tell us the model and rack depth.
Do you supply riser cards and backplane boards?
Yes. Risers determine which PCIe slots are usable and at what lane width, which is why an adapter that fits physically may still run slower than expected.
Do you supply server fans and heatsinks?
Yes. Heatsinks are frequently processor and chassis specific, and a CPU upgrade sometimes needs a different heatsink β worth checking before the upgrade rather than during it.
Memory and processors
What server memory do you stock?
16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB DDR4 RDIMM and LRDIMM registered ECC in DDR4-2400 PC4-19200, DDR4-2666 PC4-21300 and DDR4-3200 PC4-25600, plus DDR5-4800 and DDR5-5600 and DDR3-1600 PC3-12800.
Which memory brands do you carry?
Samsung, Micron, SK Hynix, Kingston and Crucial, plus HPE and Dell coded modules where the platform expects them.
What is the difference between RDIMM, UDIMM and LRDIMM?
RDIMM buffers the address and command lines, LRDIMM buffers the data lines too and allows much higher total capacity, and UDIMM is unbuffered. They do not mix in the same system.
Why is my DDR4-3200 memory running at 2666?
Population rules. Filling more ranks or more slots per channel forces the bank to downclock, and the processor also has a maximum supported speed. The modules are not faulty.
Can I mix memory sizes and speeds?
You can, but everything runs at the slowest common speed and unbalanced population costs you channel performance. Populate in matched sets per the platformβs memory guide.
Do you supply Xeon E5 v3 and v4 processors?
Yes, along with Xeon Scalable Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum from 8 to 28 cores, and AMD EPYC and Opteron.
Can I mix different Xeon models in a dual socket server?
No. Both sockets need matching models. A mismatched pair either refuses to boot or runs on one socket.
Does a processor upgrade need a BIOS update?
Frequently yes, and the BIOS has to be updated before the new processor goes in. Tell us the server and current firmware level and we will flag it.
Power and networking
Do you supply server power supplies?
Yes, by wattage β 495W, 750W, 800W, 1100W and above β for HPE, Dell and Supermicro platforms.
Can I mix power supply wattages in one server?
Generally no. Redundant supplies should match on wattage and usually on part number; a mismatched pair commonly logs a fault and may not provide redundancy at all.
Should an Oregon site hold a spare power supply?
For any server without redundancy, yes. At this shipping distance a failed PSU on a single-supply machine is days of downtime rather than hours.
Do you supply rack PDUs and UPS units?
Yes, including UPS battery replacements.
Do you supply SFP+ and QSFP transceivers?
Yes, including SFP-10G-SR, QSFP+ and QSFP28.
Will any SFP+ transceiver work in my switch?
Often not. Many switches only accept transceivers coded for that vendor and simply refuse others. Tell us the switch make and model and we supply the correct coding.
Do you supply 10GbE network adapters?
Yes β Intel X520 and X710, Mellanox ConnectX and Broadcom, in PCIe, OCP and mezzanine form factors. Tell us the server model, since mezzanine and OCP adapters are platform specific.
Do you supply PoE+ and 10GbE switches?
Yes, including Cisco Catalyst and comparable models by port count.
Spares and planning at distance
Should Oregon customers hold spares?
Yes, more than customers in most states. A part on your own shelf has no transit time, and at this distance that difference is larger than almost anywhere in the lower 48.
What should an Oregon operation hold as spares?
Whatever you could not wait for: drives in production arrays, a printhead per printer model in continuous use, a spare scanner per shift, and a matching power supply for any non-redundant server.
Can you hold stock against our platforms?
Tell us the platforms and printer models you run and your refresh timing. It commits you to nothing and it changes what we can do when something fails.
Why does compatibility checking matter more at this distance?
Because a wrong part means a cross-country return and a replacement cycle starting over. We confirm the match before anything leaves Florida.
Cold, damp and washdown environments
Do you supply scanners for freezer and cold storage operations?
Yes. Tell us the operating temperature range and we will specify cold-rated units. Standard equipment fails quickly below its rated range.
What is the difference between rugged and washdown-rated?
Rugged means built to survive drops. Washdown means sealed against water and dust ingress. A device that is merely rugged is not sealed against a hose.
Why does equipment fail moving between freezer and ambient?
Condensation, which is a separate problem from cold rating. Equipment designed for freezer-to-ambient cycling handles it; equipment that is not, fails.
Why does our scanning equipment last less than a year?
Usually because standard equipment was supplied into a cold, wet or washdown environment. Specifying correctly at purchase is far cheaper than replacing annually.
Does damp warehouse air affect printheads?
Yes. Printheads in damp environments wear faster and need cleaning at every media change rather than occasionally.
Labelling, scanning and printheads
Do you supply industrial label printers for Oregon manufacturing?
Yes. Zebra and SATO industrial printers suited to component marking, traceability and continuous production labelling, with printheads and spares.
What media suits component traceability labelling?
Labels have to remain readable through a componentβs service life, which usually means thermal transfer with a resin ribbon rather than direct thermal. Tell us the surface and environment.
How many spare printheads should a plant hold?
At least one per printer model in continuous use. Printheads are consumables with a rated life measured in linear distance printed β and at this distance the replacement is worth stocking for.
How do I know which printhead my printer needs?
Read the part number off the existing printhead or the printer label. Printheads differ by resolution for the same printer model and do not cross between models.
There is a white line through every label. What is wrong?
A dead heating element in the printhead. It appears in the same position on every label, does not heal, and more elements will follow.
Why is my label printer printing blank labels?
Usually a media and mode mismatch β direct thermal stock in thermal transfer mode or the reverse β or ribbon loaded with the coated side facing the wrong way.
Why is my printer skipping labels?
Calibration. The printer detects label boundaries with a sensor, and changing media size, liner or gap requires recalibrating.
Do you supply label printers for Oregon healthcare?
Yes. Zebra and SATO printers for patient identification, wristband and specimen labelling, plus genuine replacement printheads.
Will a 1D laser scanner read 2D codes used in component marking?
No. Data Matrix codes are 2D and require an imager. A 1D laser cannot read them at all.
Do I need the interface cable with a barcode scanner?
Yes, and it is specific to the interface. We supply the correct cable with the scanner β an omission that matters more when the replacement is a cross-country shipment.
Shipping and delivery to Oregon
Do you ship to Oregon?
Yes, to every address in the state β Portland, the Willamette Valley, the coast, central Oregon and the eastern counties.
How long does delivery to Oregon take?
Oregon is one of the furthest states from West Palm Beach, so standard ground takes considerably longer than to the southeast. Tell us your deadline and we will say which service actually meets it.
Do you have a warehouse in Oregon?
No. We ship from West Palm Beach, Florida, and we would rather state that plainly than imply a distribution network we do not have.
Can you get hardware to Portland quickly?
Expedited service reaches Portland, and it costs more from this distance. Tell us the date you need it rather than picking a service and we will confirm what actually arrives in time.
Do you deliver to the Silicon Forest?
Yes β Hillsboro, Beaverton, Aloha, Tualatin, Wilsonville and the Sunset Corridor.
Do you ship to the Columbia River data centre corridor?
Yes β Hermiston, Boardman, Umatilla and The Dalles.
Do you deliver to central and eastern Oregon?
Yes β Bend, Redmond, Prineville, Pendleton, La Grande, Ontario and Burns, including addresses carriers classify as extended delivery areas.
Do you ship to the Oregon coast?
Yes β Astoria, Newport, Coos Bay, Florence, Lincoln City and Brookings. Transit is longer and we will say so up front.
Is shipping to Oregon free?
Free shipping applies to qualifying orders. Heavier and expedited shipments to Oregon are quoted separately.
Procurement, condition and returns
Can Oregon universities and agencies order on a purchase order?
Yes. We accept purchase orders from organisations, offer Net-30 on approval, and complete vendor registration forms and W-9s as required.
Do you supply Oregon school districts?
Yes. Purchase orders, formal quotations and vendor registration are all standard for us.
Can you quote against a bill of materials?
Yes. Send the list with part numbers, quantities and the target system for each line, and you get it back priced per line with exact part number, condition and availability stated.
How long is a quote valid?
We state a validity period on every quote. Ask for longer if your approval process needs it and we will tell you what we can hold.
How quickly do you respond to an Oregon quote request?
Our target is one business hour, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern β 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM Pacific. Send a request overnight and it is usually answered before your morning.
What condition is your hardware in?
We state the condition on every line. Ask for the specific condition, the testing performed and the drive hours where applicable.
Is your hardware tested?
Testing is performed where applicable and we will tell you what was done. A power-on check and a full surface test are different things and we do not describe one as the other.
What is your return policy for Oregon customers?
30 days. Given the transit distance, raise a problem promptly β the window has to cover a cross-country trip in both directions.
Should I test hardware when it arrives?
Yes, and before it goes into production. At this distance, discovering a fault after the return window closes is expensive.
Will you tell me if I am buying the wrong thing?
Yes. Several of our guides recommend against a purchase where the workload does not justify it, and we apply the same approach to quotes.
Do you buy decommissioned hardware from Oregon organisations?
Contact us with a list of what is coming out and we will tell you what it is worth and what is worth keeping as spares.
How do I contact you from Oregon?
Call (954) 601-5103 or email sarah.jane@techsellerusa.com. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern β 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM Pacific.
