Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) has drawn conflicting readings from Wall Street on early demand for the iPhone 18 Pro, with brokers reporting different delivery lead times and disagreeing on what those times indicate.

JPMorgan analysts led by Samik Chatterjee tracked delivery windows in the United States, China, Germany and the United Kingdom during the first week of pre orders. The bank found global at home delivery averaging seven days for the iPhone 18 Pro and 19 days for the Pro Max, against 15 and 24 days respectively a year earlier. In the United States, which JPMorgan puts at about 34% of iPhone shipments, lead times ran two days for the Pro and 22 days for the Pro Max, against four and 21 days last year. China showed the largest shift, at 13 and 21 days against 30 days for both models a year earlier.

Bank of America, measuring as of 14 September, put the iPhone 18 Pro global average ship time at 14 days against 18 days for the iPhone 17 Pro at the same point last year, and the Pro Max at 18 days against 25 days.

Evercore ISI reported different figures, citing average delivery of 25 days for the Pro Max against 19 days last year, and 16 days for the Pro against 12 days.

Jefferies, tracking six markets, found Pro Max lead times five to 11 days shorter year over year.

Analysts cautioned that speculative buying in China and Hong Kong complicates the reading, and that the picture will clarify once deliveries began on 18 September.
